Antique Furniture
The Jackson gallery carries antique furniture from different periods and locations. American, French, German, Austrian, and English pieces from the 18th and 19th centuries can be found. Selections are always evolving from Period to Victorian, Rococo, Art Deco, Arts and Crafts, Eastlake, and Vintage. Baroque, Biedermier, Hepplewhite, inlayed and carved pieces can be found in rosewood, mahogany, pine, and other woods. In addition, primitive Texas and Fredericksburg furnishings are often found. Among our offerings are armoires, beds, benches, bookcases, buffets, cabinets, chairs, chests, clocks, cupboards, desks, dining furniture, dressers, dressing tables, farmhouse tables, lighting, mirrors, nightstands, pedestals, sideboards, sofas, stools, tables, and wardrobes.
Larry Jackson has specialized in the finery of the Victorian Period for over 35 years. Larry is very accomplished in all of the furnishings and decor of the period, but his favorite cabinet maker is John Henry Belter. Larry is considered to be the current leading expert in the United States on furniture made by Belter, who is featured in the Metropolitan, Brooklyn, High, and Milwaukee Museums, as well as the Chicago Institute of Art.
Larry has both bought and sold more Belter Furniture in the last 20 years than any other dealer in the country. He has assembled the three most extensive collections of Belter in the United States. Belter Furniture is like family to Larry. He knows where it is, who owns it, what condition it’s in, as well as its current market value!
